dam/flooding

With all the flooding in the Branson area, last week was exhausting. It's kind of old news now, but better late than never, I guess. All 10 flood gates were opened at Table Rock Dam, releasing 68,000 cubic feet of water per second into Lake Taneycomo. I had no idea how much people liked watching dams. A couple asked me to take their photo in front of it. I shot and Bob produced this dam video.

Fantasia Hair Creations owner Cheryl Meadows-Wilkinson, right, gets a hug from Vicki Wilson as she carries items out of her salon in the Turkey Creek Junction shopping center in Hollister on Wednesday, April 27, 2011. "I've never seen anything like this before," she said. "It's never gotten close to my business before."

The south Branson Landing parking lot was flooded.

Check out a few more from Hollister, or the album from earlier in the week.

I was off on Friday when Nate got to shoot aerials, and Bob went out with the water patrol. I would have loved to get either of those assignments, but I was also ready to relax.
