The Blue Whale!

I got Jamie to stop at the Blue Whale on the way home from Tulsa. It's an old Route 66 attraction in Catossa, OK. It makes me happy.

For some reason, I like creepy old houses.  I found this one today in Englewood:

And these are from our painting with light lab the other night:

Color Correction

Despite my best efforts to figure it out, the color looks more washed out online than it should.

Single Flash

I went to the craft studio on campus for both of these and found a sewing class and a stained glass class.

I'm on the crew at the Missouri Photo Workshop in St. James this week, where there's been a lot of tomfoolery and diner food.

Josh and Catalin

I'm not sure what Josh is reacting to, but Christine and Cat obviously don't share his enthusiasm.

Serkan thinks root beer floats smell like Bengay.

My bacony veggie plate.

These photos were taken on a copy stand for a class assignment.

Mood Lighting:

This photo is a copy of Trichy Temple by David Lazar, published in JPG Magazine, Issue 13.  Original caption: "This phto is taken at the top of the 83m-high Rock Fort--the only outcrop in the otherwise flat land of the city of Trichy in Tamil Nadu.  Looking back down toward the hazy city, we see another decorative Hindu temple."  The scratches are from the glass put over the image to keep it flat.  Oops.

Stump the Chump:

This photo is a copy of Tirmis Vendor at the Cairo Bazar by Jake Lester, originally published in JPG Magazine, Issue 15.  Original caption: "I live in Dublin, Ohio, and Cairo, Egypt (The Midwest and the Mideast). This is a man I see often when I am in Cairo."  I don't think the lighting here is too hard to figure out, but I like the picture.

the Ninth Ward, New Orleans

I found a photo of this same house on this blog:

My sister's kids, Weston and Malory.

Malory made some friends.  She and the little boy insisted, "there are too fish in there."

My niece and nephew are adorable, no?  It was great to meet up with my sister's family. We had beignets at Cafe du Monde.

Clare, soaking up the kitschy vibes.
